It’s easy to name essential services that the government must perform, but it’s also true that there are clearly functions that can be carried out by less people more efficiently and also functions the government is performing that shouldn’t be done.
We have an enormous budget deficit.
I really feel it’s a breath of fresh air to have an administration going line by line through our expenses and trying to improve upon them and it’s long overdue. If you compare it to George Bush, the last republican president who’s goal was to simply privatize everything and seemed to have just created a class of contractors who make government more expensive and try to charge as much as possible or Biden and Obama who hired tons of people and created large deficits.
I don’t find myself agreeing with the language Trump uses, but their actual goals make a lot of sense and we should find a way to meet in the middle and accept that changes are necessary and ideal.

I'd agree with you, if the goal was to decrease the deficit. But so far it sounds like the main goal is decreasing taxes on the rich and corps.
