No mention of platform hosting lock-in.

Options like Wix, you are completely locked into their ecosystem. You can't host a Wix site anywhere, and if you stop paying them, your website will be gone.

Have used both Wix and Elementor, I found Wix to be just as frustrating to learn and use as first starting with Elementor. My biggest problem with Elementor at the time was actually just with using custom CSS which they eventually made a lot easier and predictable. Divi, another WordPress WYSIWYG builder also was bad for adding custom CSS for a long time.

I have used Elementor extensively; when it falls short you can fall back on rolling your own WordPress plugin or custom Elementor element. If an update breaks everything, you can roll back a version or fix it yourself. The recent update that introduced a reliance on mbstring (usually not enabled for PHP 8.3) is a good example.

Pretty short list for a big market. Lots more WordPress options, other SaaS like Webflow, Squarespace.

It’s just a marketing blogspam page, not very interesting.

Is this just another ad for Base44? Claiming WIX is easier to use than Elementor is only valid if you like shitty template websites versus template site elements. It's posts like this that remind me the HN is still just as fucking stupid as Peter Theil's dumb ass.

Thats quite a leap, your hostility seems misplaced.

I got some value out of it, quick comparison of prices.
