Ebru is Turkish paper marbling: you paint on the surface of a thickened water bath (traditionally with a tray, natural pigments, and tools like combs and styluses), then transfer the pattern onto paper. Each piece is unique. The craft spread along the Silk Road, and UNESCO added it to its Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2014. The catch is you need special materials—kitre, dyes, a tray—and a bit of practice.

I built an iOS app that simulates the same look and feel. You add colors, drag with your finger or Apple Pencil to create waves and patterns (same ideas as the traditional tools: rakes, drops, serpentines, stylus strokes), and export or share. No kitre, no dyes, no tray—just the phone.

    Would love feedback.
