Excellent concept! You should add weather in as well (which would probably only be relevant if the event in question is relatively near term) so that if the forecast is cloudy, you might be more willing to be seated in a sunny section.
This is super cool, I had the same problem. Wonder if you could layer in shade and image data from Google Earth too
