    Could it be because the American health care system makes it difficult to impossible for millions to afford the care, treatment, or support they need? Nah, must be the millennials drinking and stressing themselves out. I know how to fix it! Let’s add some AI to healthcare!

      That was my first thought. Other thoughts that followed:

      It's actually pretty hard in much of the US to eat healthy food, particularly if you're poor.

      Our car-dependent culture discourages physical fitness.

      Our standard of living ranks, at best, 8th in the world.
