Not too long ago, a recruiter reached out for a confidential client that turned out to be ClickUp with a posting that felt off (600-900k + stock and bonus compensation), I was left wondering what kind of insanity is rolled into the job for this amount. Now I know.

I'm so glad that the LLM hysteria at $WORK is barely scratching the surface. These Twitter-brained CEOs are living in a completely different reality, so I am really happy I don't have to experience it firsthand.

    AI psychosis claims another CEO.

If AI is even capable of 100x the output of a single human, wouldn’t it make sense to hire even more people? Or do they need the money to pay for tokens?

    > Today we reduced headcount by 22%. The business is the strongest it's ever been. So I think it's important to be direct about what I'm seeing and why.

    > First, I made this decision and I own it. I did it because the way to operate at the highest level of productivity is changing, and to win the future, ClickUp needs to change with it.

    Good! No euphemisms.

    > Second, this wasn't about cutting costs. Most savings from this change will flow directly back into the people who stay. We'll be introducing million-dollar salary bands. If you create outsized impact using AI, you'll be paid outside of traditional bands.

That’s good. But with 100X output the salaries should increase more than that?

Not that I believe that salaries will increase proportionally.

    > THE BUILDERS, AGENT MANAGERS, AND FRONT-LINERS

A true believer. Or true investor-whisperer.

Maybe this unlimited character count tweets change was a mistake.

      > Maybe this unlimited character count tweets change was a mistake.

The real mistake was CEOs feeling like they need to be visible on social media and opine on things in the public sphere.

      They mention "million-dollar salary bands."

What was the original salary given a 100X increase in productivity? If they get a 50X salary, maybe 20K USD? Maybe I don’t understand how this works.

Imagine prime Jack Welch in this A.I era and the 10x coder-PM-builder slop you see.
