This felt weirdly defensive and written in bad-faith, even with Zitron's standards in mind. Linking to his own 1000+ words premium posts as sources is also very annoying.

Ed has some pretty weird takes.

    https://www.wheresyoured.at/nobody-works-eight-hours-a-day-a...

In this one he describes playing WoW at work, in front of his coworkers, because he'd already finished his work. At 19 he thought this was a normal and defensible thing to do.

He then goes on to say

    > I want to be extremely transparent with you: I do not think I have worked a contiguous 8 hours in many, many years. I would also add that I do not believe I know anyone who has done so

I've _watched_ my partner work for easily 10h straight for her marketing job, lunch at her desk in front of the laptop, and she's still paid far less than Ed or his colleagues.

Ed's aloofness and arrogances bugs me a bit. If he's earnest in believing that being a Business Idiot is very easy and CEOs never work full days, I'd encourage him to apply to YC.
