    We don’t even have the technical capability to create a digital atomic-scale model-copy of a cell, strictly speaking we don’t even know what consciousness actually is. This kind of statement usually comes from those who simply don’t understand what they’re talking about.

    It will never happen. All we can do is simulate consciousness. Only God, Mother Nature, universe, whatever your flavor of the “higher power” is, can create consciousness.
