    It's articles like this that show why we can't enjoy our nice things anymore. There's always someone wanting to whip their own backs and tell us how miserable they are.

      6,000 words of nonsense from a woman from New York City visiting a small Missouri town and basically taking a giant dump on it. Doesn’t get much more on the nose than that.

        Not just a woman from New York City but a woman from New York City who is a literary critic and biographer whose work appears in The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, Harper’s, and elsewhere. It'd be hard to find someone more steeped in urban elite snobbery marinated in concentrated ideology outside of Columbia.
