Clickbait title. They removed a faulty 32GB module from a 2x32GB machine and shipped the laptop back with the removed module.
The article clearly states the module was not shipped back to the customer.
The article is a clickbaity rehash of a Tom's Hardware article, which is a rehash of this Reddit post [0], in which it clearly indicates the extra stick was shipped back to the customer.
