Calling them "lawmakers" at this point seems like a stretch given our laws are now almost exclusively dictated via social media/EO by the executive. I wish I was kidding. Maybe "former" or "legacy" lawmakers is more accurate?

Lawmakers in name only. Rubber stamping bills proposed by lobbyists and the executive branch. Lino printing

atp calling them show-uppers would be a little bit much. perhaps "elected vacationers"?

Maybe call them "chat", like a Twitch chat? Trump is already streaming from the Oval Office and blogging on Truth Social, and the chat reacts within the allowed boundaries.

Asking for an OIG investigation would be more reassuring if Trump were not regularly firing inspector generals, replacing them with loyalists, and then using them to investigate his perceived enemies.

In a nutshell, what they are good at is hiding the consequences of their fuckups. They are blessed with (among other things) unbelievable luck that never seems to run out.
