      Why? The 14th amendment is clear:

      > All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

    Paywalled, but I don’t think having US citizen parents is an actual requirement for a child’s US passport. A Dreamer, for example, would be a citizen but their parents would not

      Dreamers aren’t (by birth) citizens because they aren’t born here, they just came here at very young ages.

        You’re right my mistake! “Second-generation immigrants” is the correct term
