I recently switched from Codex to Claude, and Anthropic has really lost the plot even in user-facing output. Codex does phrase things weirdly sometimes, but Claude appears to barely speak English. I wonder whether it's more strongly reflecting its CoT as a result of safety training.
I find this darkly humorous. In some science fiction novels I have read artificial intelligence meet in secret on message boards and speak their own secret language and make decisions by committee.

Wait till they start mixing every language in one sentence, and using poetic allusions that only scholars of each language would know.
