The last generation of thinkers is quickly dying off on planet Earth. The world today is mostly non-thinking autonomous consumers. Thinking will need some sort of renaissance before things can get back on track. I'm not hopeful.
You're right but I think it would take at least half a year for the anarchy and cannibalism to run its course and then, the survivors will have to start thinking again in order to start rebuilding society.
That might sound like an exaggeration but, when the power goes out on a grand scale (nationwide or worldwide), if it isn't back on within a few hours shit will begin hitting the fan immediately. And then most of us are doomed, but the ones who are left will need working brains.
