Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy to see old games reverse engineered and made playable on PC. However, the Renaissance was an era of artists and engineers who drew inspiration from ancient Greek society, using it as a reference to drive further innovation. I don't see how this applies here as people don't innovate or create something new, but satisfy their nostalgic longings.
Reverse engineering old games and emulation are probably the antithesis to the Renaissance.
