I didn't read the article but the title itself gave me the insight: if AI is ever gonna end humanity, then this is how they're gonna do it, by using humans against humans.

Bro, it really just downloaded an executable off the internet because it could. The only humans it 'used' here are the cheat developers who open-sourced their code

Humans have been using humans against other human throughout time, is it really any different?

Yes, it's different. We already had projectiles when guns were invented, and guns were different too. Further shifting the balance of power to those with thousands of GPUs is different.

I'm a little lost on how this comparison and explanation answers what I was asking, would you mind expanding on it? Guns and projectiles were just fancier ways for humans to kill each other.

My comment was focused on the original comments insight that AI will use humans to try to end other humans as it's imo nothing more than a change in who is doing it than a difference in what's happening. In that scenario the balance of power is in the hands of the AI and not the people who control, or I guess controlled, the GPUs.

It'll be a mix of artificial intelligence and natural idiocy... The US military almost attacked a Chinese ship because AI said it had nuclear components for Iran on board: https://arstechnica.com/ai/2026/09/report-us-almost-boarded-...

I'm surprised supreme moron Hegseth hasn't doomed us yet..

If it downloaded a program specifically designed to beat StarCraft, how did it know what it was and how to find it ?

Because it was trained on the entire internet
