If you need something but don't have a budget for it, that's not demand.

Is the nurse quality of life that terrible? What can they do to make it better?

I can't get past the paywall, so I don't know exactly what factors this article cites, but usually people cite stress from under-staffing and being over-worked and for hospital workers a rise in workplace violence. For nurses subjected to gig work systems, there is probably also a lot of career uncertainty.

So, I'd propose that the first line of fixes would be: Staff more; Refuse to use nursing gig-work systems; Make health care, especially preventative health care, affordable.

Either hire more nurses to lessen the workload or pay more money so it is worth working yourself to death.

They're also replaced in droves. We build hundreds of new student accounts at $dayjob on a monthly basis.
