I have been tracking my nutrition pretty accurately using my own app and my own data backend. Because I also sometimes snap photos of my meals, I figured I should see how well AI can guesstimate my meals' macros. As expected, it works okay-ish: Claude Sonnet 5.5 comes in about 100 kcal low per meal, mostly by underestimating protein.
If anyone cares enough, I can expand the dataset and release it.
