I find supervising ai agents as they generate code commits and pull requests feels relatively natural, but I’m less comfortable with giving them access to things like email. I wondered if existing email protocols could bear a proxy layer that gave me that pull request functionality.

Nuvrail is an IMAP/SMTP proxy you run yourself. It sits between an AI agent and your real mail server. The agent connects to it like a normal mail server, with its own login, so it never holds your real mail password or OAuth token, and it needs no code changes.

This product is really early and agentic written, but it is a thing I am using internally and think the idea has legs.
