Hi Folks,

I'm Sergey, founder of Spooler (https://spooler.sh) -- a durable, fully managed\nmessage queue, inspired by the simplicity of Go channels.

Why? Whenever I needed a queue for something, it often felt that adding one\nwould be a bigger project than the solution. Existing systems offered far more\nthan I needed, while using a relational database usually meant inventing queue\nsemantics on the go.

What I really wanted was just a send and recv with retries.

After nearly six months of engineering, I'm really happy to share the result with you.

How it works: you send a message to the queue, you recv it leased; when the\nmessage processing is done you acknowledge it, if the lease times out, the\nmessage gets back to the queue to be delivered again or into the failed state\non too many retries.

There is an atomic ack-and-send: you can acknowledge a message and append\nanother in a single operation. You can model state machines with it: a queue is\na state, a message in the queue is an object in that state, and ack-and-send is\nthe transition.

Each Spooler queue lives in a spool: a storage isolation unit (hence the\nproduct name) with its own write-ahead log and replication. That means that\ndurable operations succeed only after the log entry is durable on disk and\nconfirmed by the required number of replicas.

Feel free to try it out!\nThere is a docker image for testing it locally: https://docs.spooler.sh/local\n(it uses the same API but with in-memory storage, which means messages live\nonly as long as the container runs).

Spooler has an open-source CLI and Go library and there is also a repo of agent\nskills for it. The server itself is closed source, so there is no self-hosted\noptions today.

Please do share your thoughts about the product -- I really hope it feels\nordinary to use.
